===The Rise of Grenzstadt===
Whilst VanillaCake__ originally planned to focus on Shiverdale, he grew hooked on the idea of turning Grenzstadt into one of the server's largest towns whilst constructing his first build in Grenzstadt, the City Hall. Two days later, VanillaCake__ became Grenzstadt's first assistant as recognition for his activity in building and terraforming in the area. By the end of VanillaCake__'s first week as assistant, Grenzstadt had grown from a 5-player Tribe to a 30-player Town.

From there on, VanillaCake__ built various important and iconic structures in Grenzstadt, such as the Spawn Terrace/Castle, the City Vault, the Palasfeld Wall, and his infamously long-unfinished Manor. He also terraformed most of the flatlands upon which other players built, wrote Grenzstadt's rules, and hid several puzzles within his builds. During this time, he successfully applied to become a Trial Moderator.

On March 8th, a little over a month after VanillaCake__ first joined the server, Grenzstadt reached 100 members. To celebrate, he created and launched the Grenzcord, before resuming efforts to expand the growing city. Less than two weeks later, Grenzstadt experienced its first and only major grief, which VanillaCake__ helped organize both the removal of the lavacasts and the retaliatory countergrief of the culprits in nearby Fartonia.

When [[User:KingDaKa4|KingDaKa4]] decided to take a break from BMC on March 30th, his final action in the server was to grant VanillaCake__ the position of Regent-Mayor in Grenzstadt to run the city for the following months. VanillaCake__ used this position to host an anniversary build competition on April 24th, exactly a year after the foundation of Grenzstadt in 2025.

===Outside of Grenzstadt===
Though he had previously constructed the exterior of a Grenzstadt embassy in Oasis, VanillaCake__ had largely remained uninvolved outside of Grenzstadt aside from staffing matters. This began to change in late March when he started construction on the Grenzstadt embassy in Azuria, followed by his participation in [[Jenga]].

In April, he continued building medium-sized builds in other towns (e.g. [[Fractalis]]) and took a particular interest in [[SpawnTown]]. First, on April 10th, he constructed a large, castle-esque building next to [[Cow's Bakery]] to contain a new Grenzstadt stargate. Then, after a mall clearing on April 14th, he created Vanilla's Wares & Spares!™. The shop quickly became one of the most active player stores not only in the mall, but the entire server, thanks to its selection of items, good prices, and frequent resupplies. At the end of the month and into the start of May, Vanilla's Wares & Spares!™ was expanded into the newly created Vanilla Tower.

===Staff Tenure===
VanillaCake__ applied to become a staff member as soon as he was eligible on March 1st, 2026. He was subsequently accepted and promoted to Trial Moderator on March 5th. 13 days later, he became a full server Moderator, and one of the most active members of the larger staff team.

Grenzstadt was created on April 24th, 2025 when https://minotar.net/helm/KingDaKa4/16.png [[User:KingDaKa4|KingDaKa4]] decided to start a settlement out by the world border. After several days of walking and searching, he found the perfect spot to settle down. He then proceeded to dig out a hole down to bedrock and sealed it with glass. The excavated materials were subsequently sold in order to finance the creation of the settlement, which he named Filder.

After founding Filder, https://minotar.net/helm/KingDaKa4/16.png [[User:KingDaKa4|KingDaKa4]] built several farm buildings near the hole. However, when he suddenly disappeared one day in early July 2025, Filder ceased all activity for the rest of the year.

=== Revival and Growth ===
At the end of December 2025, https://minotar.net/helm/KingDaKa4/16.png [[User:KingDaKa4|KingDaKa4]] returned to the server. Immediately after his sudden return, he decided to remove the old farm buildings and to rename Filder to Grenzstadt. He replaced the removed buildings with a new mushroom farm and sugarcane farm before taking a break for a few days.

It was only at the end of January when https://minotar.net/helm/KingDaKa4/16.png [[User:KingDaKa4|KingDaKa4]] started to invite a few players; notably https://minotar.net/helm/VanillaCake__/16.png [[User:VanillaCake__|VanillaCake__]], who quickly became heavily involved in the development of Grenzstadt. 

Over the course of February, https://minotar.net/helm/VanillaCake__/16.png [[User:VanillaCake__|VanillaCake__]] worked with https://minotar.net/helm/KingDaKa4/16.png [[User:KingDaKa4|KingDaKa4]] to radically expand Grenzstadt through major terraforming, frequent advertising, and hours of building. Grenzstadt grew from a 5-player Tribe to a 30-player Town in just the first week of February, and had become a small City by the halfway point of the month.

By March 2026, Grenzstadt had risen to the status of a 100-player Metropolis. It has since become one of the three largest and most active towns on the server in 2026, joined by the larger and more established cities of [[Windfall]] and [[Squirtville]].
